Workshop on “HOW TO CRACK AN INTERVIEW”

Department of Bioinformatics of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at the International Islamic University (IIU) Islamabad, conducted a workshop titled “How to Crack an Interview”.

The activity was aimed for empowering students and professional for career development and success and proved to be an invaluable resource for the attendees seeking successful strategies to excel in interviews.
The workshop boasted a lineup of renowned speakers, including Brigadier (R) Aslam Khan, Colonel (R) Azam Qadri, Professor Hafiz Aftab Ahmed, and Director General Haider Abbass, who shared their knowledge and expertise with audience.

Chief Guest of this workshop was Director General Haider Abbas from the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services. In his address, Mr. Abbas commended IIU and the Department of Bioinformatics for organizing such a beneficial workshop, stressing the importance of interview skills in today’s competitive job market. He added that this workshop would be an enlightening experience for all participants and will help equipping them with valuable insights and techniques to excel in their future interviews. He provided insights on necessary tools to navigate the challenges of the job market successfully.

Mr. Zaydan Khan, the Chief Trainer and a corporate training veteran, kicked off the workshop by emphasizing the importance of resume preparation. He highlighted the significance of showcasing relevant skills and experiences and offered invaluable tips on interview techniques, focusing on body language, confidence, and effective communication.
Brigadier (R) Muhammad Aslam, Chairman Rural Development Fund and Chairman Pakistan Economic Watch, provided meaningful insights into interview preparation and delivered mock interview techniques to help participants get prepared beforehand. He also offered internship opportunities, generating enthusiasm among attendees for gaining practical experience and further honing their skill sets.

Colonel (R) Azam Qadri, a senior analyst and writer with extensive experience as an interviewee, delved into the subject of interview etiquette. He emphasized the importance of professional conduct and its profound impact on interview outcomes.
Professor Hafiz Aftab Ahmed, Principal of Cadet College Bhurban Murree, shared his expertise, stressing the need for comprehensive interview preparation, including research about the organization and industry trends. He encouraged attendees to stay updated with emerging trends and growth prospects, motivating them to seize future opportunities.
The workshop was chaired by Dr. Mehrosh, the Chairperson of the Department of Bioinformatics, who expressed gratitude to the speakers for their invaluable contributions during the workshop. On the occasion, Dr. Mehrosh highlighted the significance of such events in empowering students and professionals to excel in their careers, encouraging attendees to focus on their career growth while excelling in academics.

During the workshop attendees actively participated in Questions & Answers sessions and networking opportunities, further enriching their understanding of successful interview strategies. At the end a souvenir was present by the Chairperson of Bioinformatics Department to the Chief Guest.
